Our Process

Undead Cinematic combines artistic passion with advanced techniques to breathe new life into vintage and contemporary posters, ensuring they remain timeless treasures. Explore our comprehensive linen-backing and restoration services.

Please note: For restoration services, all posters must be linen-backed. Please check pricing for details. Alternatively, you may request linen-backing services without restoration.

Step 1: Stretching the Linen

We start by delicately stretching 12 weight cotton duck canvas over stretcher bars, akin to the care an artist employs when preparing a canvas for a significant painting.

Step 2: Mounting the Lining Paper

The canvas is adorned with lining paper, creating a foundation that, when dry, tightens to form a smooth and wrinkle-free surface—ideal for mounting the poster.

Step 3: Mounting the Poster with Wheat Starch Glue

Your cherished poster is delicately mounted to the lining paper using wheat starch glue. Awaiting the meticulous drying process ensures the canvas and poster intertwine seamlessly. This period of waiting, typically 2 to 3 days, contributes to the reduction of fold lines, preserving the poster’s appearance.

Step 4: Final Drying and Handling

After the drying period, the poster is carefully removed from the stretcher bars, allowing for safe handling. Whether you prefer storage rolled, laid flat, or framed to complement your tastes and home decor, Undead Cinematic ensures the utmost care in this final step. Optional restoration work, if chosen, is completed before framing.

Step 3: Restoration (Tiers 2-4)

Your cherished poster is delicately mounted to the lining paper using wheat starch glue. Awaiting the meticulous drying process ensures the canvas and poster intertwine seamlessly. This period of waiting, typically 2 to 3 days, contributes to the reduction of fold lines, preserving the poster’s appearance.
